TEA1721BDB1065,598 is a reference design demonstrates the TEA1721 as a -12V and -3.3V AC/DC SMPS converter that can provide 5W into a load. The switch mode converter operates in flyback mode at a maximum frequency of around 50KHz. Over current and short circuit protection are built in. Under no load conditions, the power consumption of the flyback converter is around 20mW. The TEA1721 is a small and low cost module Switched Mode Power Supply (SMPS) controller IC for low power applications (up to 5W) and operates directly from the rectified universal mains input.
● TEA1721BT IC used on the board
● Compatible with universal mains 85V (AC) to 265V (AC)
● Dual output voltage of -12V (DC) and -3.3V (DC)
● Maximum output current of -400mA
● Primary side voltage regulation removes the need for an optocoupler
● Output voltage accuracy of 5%
● Output voltage regulation and stability of 1% (in load range 5% to 100%)
● Total maximum power of 5W
● No load power consumption of 20mW
● Efficiency of 80%
●The demo board is powered by AC mains voltage. Avoid touching the board when power is applied. An isolated housing is obligatory when used in uncontrolled, non laboratory environments.
