The LM2937IMP-3.3 is a fixed output low dropout (LDO) linear voltage regulator in 4 pin SOT-223 package. This regulator is ideal for converting common 5V logic supply or higher input supply voltage to lower 2.5V and 3.3V supplies to power very large scale integrations (VLSI) ASICs and microcontrollers. Special circuitry has been incorporated to minimize quiescent current of device to 10mA with a 500mA full load current when differential voltage is greater than 5V. The LM2937IMP-3.3 requires an output bypass capacitor for stability. By utilizing PNP transistor, the ESR of this capacitor remains critical. This device has an in built special compensation circuitry that relaxes ESR requirements.
