The DS1086Z+ is a spread spectrum EconOscillator in 8 pin NSOIC package. This is a programmable clock generator that produces a spread spectrum (dithered) square wave output of frequencies from 260KHz to 133MHz. The selectable dithered output reduces radiated emission peaks by dithering frequency 2% or 4% below programmed frequency. It has a power down mode and an output enable control for power sensitive applications. Device settings are stored in non-volatile (NV) EEPROM memory allowing it to operate in standalone applications. It is used in printers, copiers, PCs, cell phones and cable modems.
