The AT91SAM7S-EK is an evaluation kit that enables the evaluation and code development for applications running on an AT91SAM7S256 devices. This kit lets designers quickly evaluate and develop code for applications running on an Atmel SAM7S microcontroller. AT91SAM7S-EK is self powered by the USB port. If the USB port is not used, the card can be supplied by an external DC power supply via the 2.1mm socket. AT91SAM7S256 is a member of the Atmel SAM7S series of flash microcontrollers based on the 32bit ARM7TDMI RISC processor. It operates at a maximum speed of 55MHz and features 128KB of flash and 64KB of SRAM. The peripheral set includes a FS USB device and Phy at 12Mbps, UART, two USARTs, TWI, SPI, SSC, two PWM timers, three 16bit timers, RTT, 8x10bit ADC and 32 I/O lines. It achieves single cycle instruction access from embedded flash at 27MIPS. The multi layer bus matrix, multiple SRAM banks, PDC, and DMA support parallel tasks and maximize data throughput.
